| Newly developed multi-storey car park concept, with special TTS units, is purchased by both Danish Supermarket and Lego.
During time, Spaencom has delivered precast concrete units for many garages, car parks and other building types where the everyday wear and tear is making similar demands on the construction. In the development of a new multi-storey car park concept, Spaencom has made use of the experiences from all the previous projects, which has lead to a new concept where specially produced TTS units, with a 10 cm increase in width, are used for a better parking-space-fit.
The first buyer of the new Spaencom concept was Danish Supermarket, who inaugurated their newly constructed car park in mid May 2011, at the Føtex supermarket in Herning. Their 9,419 squaremeters sized car park is covered with glass and aluminum, and can accommodate 305 cars spread over one floor underground and four above. It is Midtjydsk Totalbyg A/S, who has been responsible for building the car park.
- Our vital demands for a car park is an appropriate arrangement, low maintenance requirements and quick erection during construction, project manager Ari Højgaard from Midtjydsk Totalbyg says. He has previous experience working with Spaencom. - We certainly believe that we, in cooperation with Spaencom, have delivered a good and user friendly product. But maybe we should let the future number of bumper-marks on the walls be the judge in this regard, Ari Højgaard is adding with a smile.
- Spaencom became involved in the project from the start so we could optimize and obtain the optimum solutions immediately, Ari Højgaard states. He is open for a cooperation in similar projects in the future.
- Using the TTS units, a greater slope has been achieved and thus a highly efficient drainage. When the TTS units are erected, concrete is cast above, which eliminates the need for grouting between the units. Securing this above concrete to stick to the structure, the TTS units are produced with protruded netting which is cast into the concrete. A further advantage of the post casting of the above concrete is that it helps spreading the load pressure as well. All in all, a good solution, Ari Højgaard concludes, looking forward to seeing the car park in function.

After the construction of the car park at the supermarket in Herning, Spaencom has also been charged with the task to produce and install the similar TTS units in a new car park project at Lego in Billund - see photos of this car park erection.
